At The Jean Foundation, we are committed to empowering vulnerable children and young people in our community through equine therapy. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to develop new skills, build self-esteem and confidence, and become part of a supportive community.
In March 2019, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to run a six-week equine therapy course for a group of 12-16-year-olds who have faced many difficulties and were either in care or looked after by the local authority. Thanks to lottery funding, we were able to provide this valuable program at no cost to the young people.
During the course, up to 10 young people were able to engage in a range of tasks, including riding the horses, saddling them, and mucking and skipping out. We were thrilled to see all the young people engaging well and developing new skills, as well as building self-esteem and confidence.
We are proud to have been able to provide this valuable program and are grateful for the support of the lottery funding. With your help, we can continue to provide valuable equine therapy programs to vulnerable children and young people in our community.
